| Omer Chagnon, 75, of Clyde, passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Brooksville, Florida.
He was born May 9, 1934 in Sheridan, Maine to the late Omer and Gertrude (Theriault) Chagnon. Omer was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing blue grass music; one of his bands was named the Blue Grass Ramblers. In later years he played music at area nursing homes. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and camping, in addition to music. His first enjoyment was his family and his friends. Omer served our country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He had worked in the shipping department at the Whirlpool Corp in Clyde. In November 1954 he married Laverne “Verne” (Ebarb) Chagnon and she survives. Also surviving are their children: Keith (Diane) Chagnon of Azusa, California; Larry (Theresa) Chagnon of Clyde; Kathy (Paul) Cooper of Clyde; Teri Faraizl of Clemmons, North Carolina; and Kevin (Elizabeth) Chagnon of Fremont. Eight grandchildren also survive: Adam, Brian, John, James, Richard, Christopher, Jennifer, and Thomas; as do two great-grandchildren. His sisters, Ann Suter and Mable Worster, both of Clyde also survive. In addition to his parents, Omer was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters. | |
