John E. “Jack” Giedeman, Jr., 78, of Clyde died at the Stein Hospice in Sandusky on Manday, February 8, 2010.

Jack was born in Sandusky, Ohio on July 3, 1931 to the late John and Mae (Phaff) Giedeman. He was raised by Mr. & Mrs. E.J. Wiedel from the age of eleven.

He graduated from Townsend High School in 1950 and served for four years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He worked for the Whirlpool Corp for forty one yers, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Clyde VFW Past and had been active in 4-H for years and showed and judged rabbits all over the county.

He was past President and Vice President and Director of the American English Spot Rabbit and American Crème Diargent rabbit clubs. Since retirement he was an avid metal detector and had a large collection of coins he had found.

Survivors include his wife, Fern (Watson) Giedeman, whom he married on September 19, 1987; two daughters, Lori Giedeman, W. Layette, Indiana; Sue Evert, Castalai; and two sons, John E. Giedemand II (Pauline) Bellevue and Wendell Giedman (Cathy), Findlay. Nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren along with his siblings, Donnal Close, Vickery; Joan Curless, Clyde; Sandra Stewart, Sandusky; Verna Moore, Clyde; Patty (Mike) Geary, Sandusky; Karen Kardotzke and Vernet “Butch” (Wilma) Kardotzke, Vickery also survive.

Jack was preceded by his brother, Ronald and Richard Giedeman and sister, with whom he was raised, Evelyn Moist.
