George A. Spitler, 85, of Clyde, died Tuesday, February 02, 2010 at Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont.

He was born on January 5, 1925 in Bellevue, Ohio to the now deceased William and Harriett (Magruder) Spitler. He attended York Schools and had worked for thirty five years at Whirlpool Corp in Clyde.

On November 14, 1952, he married the former Lynnette Soule, and she survives; as do their children: Richard (Karen) Spitler, Highland Heights, Kentucky; Joseph (Betty) Spitler, Clyde and Janet Forsythe (Mark Sultz), Fremont. Eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren also survive. One brother, Charles (Nancy) Spitler survives in Sandusky.

He was preceded in death by siblings: William Spitler; Russell Spitler; Raymond Spitler and Mary Gruver.
