Gladys Ruth Keegan, 96, formerly of Clyde, more recently of Sandusky, died at the Lutheran Memorial Home on Tuesday, October 27, 2009..
Mrs. Keegan was born on Cherry Street in Clyde on August 7, 1913 to the now deceased Charles M. and Martha Minnie Marie (Kollat) Myers. She attended the Chippawa School in Clyde and had worked at the Whirlpool Corp until retiring in February 1977.
For sixty five years, Gladys was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde, but after her move to Sandusky, she became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sandusky. She was a member of the former Twentieth Century Club.
On April 19, 1933, she married Merritt C. Keegan, who preceded her in death on May 3, 2001.
Survivors include their two sons, Louis G. (Ruth) Keegan, Sandusky; and Richard L. (Ilona) Keegan, Parma; six grandchildren, Philip (Denise) Keegan; Tracy (Jeffrey) Herbert; Troy (Tish) Keegan; Cynthia (Frank) Ciminelli; Suzanne (Brian) Ponikvar and Crystal (Joe) Orlando. Also surviving are ten great-grandchildren and two sisters, Pauline (Clarence) Allison, Florida; and Irene Reitzel, Norwalk.
Gladys was preceded in death by siblings; Lester Myers; Robert Myers; Anna Rose Ritchey; William Myers and Howard Myers.
