He was born April 28, 1936 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio to the late Leslie E. and Lucille (Gray) MacLean.
Jim attended Grosse Point High School and worked for National Machine for nearly twenty years He served his country in the US Army from 1955-1957. He was a member of Butternut Ridge Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois MacLean, in 1989. In 1991 he married Lois Cagle MacLean and she survives in Green Springs. Also surviving are his daughter, Jennifer MacLean of Tiffin, his daughter, Julie Mae Marie Young of Fremont, his foster daughter, Jaqueline Sanford of Clyde, and his step-sons: Kenneth Cagle of Clyde, Donald Cagle of Clyde, and Gary Cagle of Oak Harbor. His sister, Suzanne Schroth of Grosse Point, Michigan also survives.
